The hour glass is a local dive-bar located near my place of residence in NE Portland. It is a great place to grab a drink, run a few games of a pool, and get some cheap, fried, oily goodness. The Hourglass’s original logo and menu lacked consistency, making the bar’s identity feel rough and undefined. The goal of the redesign was to create a clearer, more cohesive brand system without losing the grit and character that make a NE Portland dive bar feel authentic. The new visual system balances a cleaner, more intentional design with a strong sense of Americana, using a consistent red, white, blue, and yellow color palette across all touchpoints. The result is a brand that feels recognizable and bold, while still honest, approachable, and true to the Hourglass’s dive bar roots.
